Born;1957 in England; my parents immediately snapped into action and emigrated to California. I followed cunningly disguised as a burbling infant. We returned to England in the early 60s in time for Fireball XL5. In 1965 we emigrated again, to Canada this time. Having seen the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup we returned to England in 1971 to flares, Monty Python & Led Zeppelin. After leaving school in 1976 I embarked on a career as a salty sea dog. As a deck officer in the Merchant Navy I learnt how to splice the mainbrace, wear cool shades and avoid arrest in South American bars. On leaving the sea in 1980 my career stepped up a notch with work in a glue factory, as a motorcycle courier, a window cleaner and a gardener. Unable to get a proper job there was only one answer; become a photographer. I returned to college at Gloucester in 1982 to study photography and curry house menus. 3 years later it was out into the big wide world, it's been getting smaller ever since. I went freelance in 1985. I've always concentrated primarily on landscape, nature and travel related work for stock, commissions and publishing. By some fluke I managed to win awards in the British Gas/ BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards in 1985,1989 & 1990. In 1987 Wendy took pity on me and married me, she now helps me run the business and stops me going round the bend when it's been raining on our tent for 10 days. We operate our multi-national corporation from Milborne Port, the economic epicentre of Europe, nr Sherborne in Dorset.
